Georgette (Also Known as Chiffon)

Georgette crepe is a fine, sheer fabric with a wonderfully floaty and ethereal quality. It’s perfect for layering, special occasions, and creating that dreamy prom dress silhouette.

Georgette dress fabrics are a lightweight, sheer fabric with a crepe surface texture. It is made from silk, polyester, or a blend of both. Georgette has a slightly rough, matte texture and a bouncy, flowing drape that makes it ideal for dresses, blouses, and scarves.

Georgette is made by tightly twisting yarns at high tension, which creates a crinkled texture that is characteristic of the fabric. The resulting fabric is sheer and lightweight, with a slightly rough texture. Because of its delicate nature, georgette is often lined or layered with other fabrics to provide opacity and structure.

Georgette dresses are popular for their elegant and flowing appearance. They are often used for formal occasions such as weddings, proms, and other special events. The fabric is available in a wide range of colours and prints, making it versatile for a variety of styles and designs.

Whether you're looking to add a touch of luxury to your wardrobe or home décor, georgette is the perfect fabric for you!

Triple Crepe

Triple crepe is a heavyweight crepe with a luxurious feel and added opacity, meaning it often doesn’t require lining. It holds its shape well and has a refined, elegant drape, making it a favourite for bridesmaid dresses and eveningwear. Triple crepe is renowned for its exceptional weight and drape, which give garments made with it an unparalleled elegance and sophistication. This fabric is not for the faint-hearted, as working with triple crepe can be challenging, but the results are worth it. Its triple-layered construction gives it a unique texture that drapes like a dream and lends an air of luxury to any garment.

Crepe de Chine

Crepe de Chine is known for its matte finish, lightweight feel and beautiful fluidity. Made from tightly twisted yarns, it’s softer and smoother than traditional crepe. This luxurious fabric is a go-to for special garments that need a fine drape without sacrificing strength or wearability.

The construction of crepe-de-chine is what makes it so special. The fabric is made from tightly twisted yarns that are first woven into a base fabric. The yarns are then dyed and treated to create the signature crepe finish. This process results in a dressmaking fabric that is both lightweight and breathable, making it perfect for warm weather wear such as camisoles, tops, shirts, and dresses.
