Description
Long, sweeping leaves painted in bold black brushstrokes and washes of warm mocha brown run across a soft cream ground on this 145cm wide woven viscose. At 130gsm it's light and fluid, with a smooth hand and a gentle lustre that catches the light as it moves. The leaves look drawn with a loaded brush, with streaky, broken edges, so the print reads as painterly rather than crisp. The overall effect is a neutral palette with plenty of contrast: earthy, grown-up and easy to wear.
It drapes beautifully and falls close to the body without clinging, which is exactly what you want from a good dress viscose. The print is applied to one side only. The reverse shows a soft grey ghost of the design, so keep track of your right side when cutting. The leaves flow mostly in one direction, and they're generously sized, so allow a little extra if you want to match across seams. Like most viscose it can shift on the cutting table, so handle it with a few extra pins.
